“A story of coming home acknowledgement and hopefully a new beginning. Brutal and compelling. Enjoyed the scenery especially the streets and neighborhoods along Metropolitan Avenue in Queens that I know so well.”
“Thought provoking. The growth of our children.”
“A good character study.”
"‘As our rock stars age here’s a film that asks ‘What were we rebelling against?’ Just growing up I guess, and not just in Queens, but I think roadies and would-be roadies everywhere will identify with the film and the story.”
“Snore! I felt badly for the mom.”
“Loved the soundtrack.”
“Significant ‘slice of life story’ with good acting. Little too long and too slow.”
“Good job!”
“Good music track. How did they get it on such a low budget film? Interesting selection of the cast. Loved the locations in Queens. Very nostalgic look at Queens, but it looked sadly depleted rather than elevated. You can’t go home! Jimmy arrives without luggage and lots of baggage back to his childhood demons. How many phones did Ron go through in shooting?”
“Seemed like it would make a great play. Great, insightful dialogue, and scenes that play on at some length. The motel scene alone would make riveting theater.”
“Stories of life always teach us the understanding truths of each of our lives.”
“Thanks for the great discussion! Best wishes to Mr. Cuesta. I’m a huge fan of 6 Feet Under and especially Homeland. I can see why he got such a great cast for a such an Indy movie.”
“You can’t go home anymore without consequences. Very difficult to watch Jimmy finally face his place in life. It was a real film. The acting was very good (especially Lois Smith). Great casting for Queens people slurring speech of Jill and Bobby.”
“Depressing. It is not a good movie to watch on your birthday.”
“Not sure this was the best medium for this story. I think this would have been better as a short story. At a time when thousands have lost their jobs, with families to feed and mortgages to pay, why should I care about someone who runs home to momma?”
“Super guest! I’m glad I saw the film and that I stayed for the guest. I think my friends who are my age would find it depressing.”
“Too slow and not too interesting.”
"Poignant at the end, but clichéd at the beginning.”
