“This documentary basically tends to underscore the need for parents to become more responsible beings. I guess that is too simplistic but also so true. From choosing names (a dubious issue-except when labeling a kid something like Temptress of course) to follow up to determine if their kids have homework, parents are the missing link or at least a critical link in molding a child’s success, even in the midst of a disintegrating society. Yeah, parents teach and install and maintain the values that children grow up to hopefully honor, but who’s now going to teach the parents?”

“Thought provoking and informative. Never read the book, but found some of the segments really interesting. Did the book include more? How did you choose? Loved the real estate agent question: ‘keep it in the market until you get your price.’ The Sumo segment was a bit too long even though it was interesting. Loved the link about abortion and crime! Makes me want to read the book. I really liked the integration of the two Stevens’ voices in the film.”

“So different from what I expected, having seen the author interviewed. The Sumo wrestling and Japanese corruption, plus the segment on the link between abortion and crime were the most compelling and also loved the piece about naming your child was disturbing fun. What an eye opening film, although the subject matter seemed to jump around so much I found it difficult to find a connection. It did mostly hold my attention. Loved the guest!”

"It's a shame that films like this have to fall under the category of 'documentary" because of lot of people just will not go. But this was cleverer, funnier, more profound and ultimately more moving than most films I've seen not just this summer but for quite some time. Any film that makes you question your life situation, crime, education and finances is worth seeing, and this one was all that and more..."
