An undeniably interesting and thought provoking film. What was true? What is true in life? Especially when we don’t know all the truths. Cleverly written and structured; can be analyzed for hours. Will take a break and then delve into its meanings for a few more days.

Eroticism in both generations caused serious problems. As voyeurs we enjoyed spying on them!
A very intriguing, complex story, just a bit slow. Didn’t know that Kristin Scott Thomas spoke French.
John – the twins, the owners of the art gallery - are the perfect example of the search for identity – certainly the theme of the story.

Only the French could have made this movie so well. Wonderfully acted, especially by the actor playing Claude. Such a difficult part and he was totally convincing.
More good foreign films.
Reminded me of PAN’S LABYRINTH where the young girl turns (escapes? deals with?) the difficult life of the Spanish civil war around her into a series of imaginings and dark events.

Intriguing! So multilayered. Engaged me! Kept me thinking. Moving between fantasy and reality. Touched on so many psychological motives, fantasies, and teenage sexuality. Loved the opening and closing images. On one level the art is making a statement, on another it must be discussed/explained.
Interesting and provocative.
This film was not convincing. The motives of the characters were unclear and not persuasive. It did not work for me. Perhaps it was the acting, but perhaps the direction.
Maybe the most intriguing film of the year, dealing with issues of identity and the muse - where do our creative powers come from? Some are inspired to greatness by tragedy/adversity, others turn to drugs and violence. Great final shot overlooking stories playing out before them.
