Highlights:

The Man Who Knew Infinity will be released on April 29.

Based on the untold story of one of the greatest minds of his generation, The Man Who Knew Infinity charts the incredible life of Srinivasa Ramanujan (Slumdog Millionaire’s Dev Patel), whose genius for mathematics takes him from the slums of India to Trinity College, Cambridge University in the early 20th-century. Spurred on by his mentor G. H. Hardy (Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons), Ramanujan overcomes racism and the rigidity of academia to revolutionize the field with his startlingly original theorems, which he attributes to divine inspiration. Driven by the engaging rapport between Patel and Irons as two vastly different men who find common ground in the world of numbers, The Man Who Knew Infinity is a fascinating look at how an unlikely, cross-cultural friendship changed the world.

“This was a beautiful film with a fascinating story to tell. I was unfamiliar with the story of Ramanujan though his name and face were very familiar to me. It was a very moving story, and so impressive that Ramanujan was able to transcend the bias he experienced in India as well as England to pursue his passion.”
“Everything about it is superb! Thank you!”
“Extraordinary! Thanks!”
“Great performance by Patel and Irons.”
“An absorbing wonderful film, beautiful to look at, with a great script, acting and direction. Exploring a genius is part quantifyable – their skills - and part un-definable, the emotions and personality that gives them their gifts.”
“I didn’t know this story so I’m very glad that the film was made.”
“Dev Patel has really come out on his own since SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and visiting our class. Exquisite story of genius like BEAUTIFUL MIND and GOOD WILL HUNTING. Jeremy Irons was a good choice for the aloof Hardy. Beautiful film.”
“Great casting. I remember studying these Mathematicians in my History of Math college course. Very interesting.”
“I don’t like math anymore now than I did in high school. Well acted and sincere but I felt little connection to the characters or any deep understanding of their camaraderie.
“Great film. We need more like this one!”
“Poverty and religion vs. wealth and atheism. It’s great that Hardy saw the skills. Donald Trump would have called him a rapist.”
“Amazing story with amazing acting.”
“A marvelous film about a subject that has always eluded me.”
“Brilliant! I know 0.0 about math, but I loved every minute of this film.”
“Bigotry and prejudice have lessened and minorities have more opportunities to integrate in many fields and areas of expertise. The times are changing fortunately.”
“There was no sense of his love for his wife, his friendship with his fellow Indians.”
“As the mother of a mathematician, I was moved by this story, a name I did not know. Those folks do have unique minds, often misunderstood. Films like this help unravel the mystery of math minds. Great performances by Patel and Irons.”
“I was totally involved in the movie. An amazing film.”
“If you are Black stay back. If you are Brown stick around. If you are white you’re all right.’ Same story different faces. How many geniuses have been lost.”
“Yes, comparisons to BEAUTIFUL MIND are inevitable, but I liked this better, without all the cinematic exploiting of Nash’s paranoia depicted in spies and chases and guns. The touching of the feet was far more evocative for me.”
