“Washed-up but unwashed country-western singer sagas are a dime a dozen, but CRAZY HEART may be the best of the bunch, as even Robert Duvall recognizes by producing and acting in the film. Nicely understated directing by Scott Cooper, a great adaptation of the novel, gorgeous Southwest scenery and two make-it-real performances by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bridges will make this a hit in cities where you can barely find a country western radio station.”

“Delightful!  Kudos to director of photography for great, beautiful fantastic scenes.  Who would think that Colin Farrell could sing, and with a twang?”

“Jeff Bridges nailed this part of an alcoholic and the reasons for recovering.  What an inspiration for all alcoholics who suffer through life.”

“Loved this movie, loved the actors.”

“Best since COAL MINER’S DAUGHTER! There are some Oscars here.”

“I enjoyed this very much.  Loved the music.  Loved the real life ending.  Jeff and Maggie (and child John?) were great!  Who knew they all could sing.  I will recommend this film to everyone.”

“Hi Ho! Jeff Bridges is Kris Kristofferson’s long lost twin?”

“Wonderful interplay of emotion, songs and real life.  The acting was excellent and natural in every way.  Very much like THE WRESTLER.”

“Reminded me of HONKY TONK MAN by Clint Eastwood.  Great acting performances by Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal and glad to see Colin Farrell.  Loved the music and awards for all.”

“I don’t like country music, but I loved this movie!”

“Superb!”

“The best country-rock movie score ever. Is there a CD store left I can find a copy?”

“It was wonderful having the actors for our Q & A.”

“Loved the music, loved Jeff, but don’t think the script is sharp enough.”

“A…1234.  Where do I buy the CD?  As an old folk singer from the 60’s I lived it!”

“I’m not usually a fan of movies about people who abuse themselves with drugs, alcohol and tobacco.  However, Jeff Bridges immersed himself 100% in this sad, sorry man, who in the end finds redemption in something other than the bottom of the bottle.  Not quite a morality tale made light by the adorable Jack Nation.  I wanted to hug him every time he was on the screen!  Great guests…regular people…open and insightful.”

“A touching story with characters you care for.  The acting was natural and real.  All country songs tell a story and all of this story was a country song.  Wonderful singing by Mr. Bridges.”

“Piss, Whiskey, Tobacco and vomit: couldn’t get passed the stench!  This was a country version of THE WRESTLER.  T. Bone Burnett’s signature all over this was the best part!”

“Everything about the film seemed so natural and right.  Couldn’t help wondering if Jeff Bridges has ever done anything better.  Talk about perfect casting.”

“Good, good acting.  Great Q &A.”

“CRAZY HEART is a movie made memorable by its performances and music (both Oscar worthy).  Jeff Bridges and Robert Duvall are two of the best actors of their generations.  Maggie Gyllenhaal gives an emotional performance.  The biggest surprise, however, is Colin Farrell who once again proves he is more than just the bad boy.”

“Beautiful and heartbreaking.”

“Down the road a piece from THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS.  Very impressive singing from Bridges and Farrell.  Great score.  Really a thrill to see Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal.”

“What a fantastic job by Jeff Bridges in his portrayal of this messed-up but endearing character Bad Blake.  Add to that his great singing ability and the terrific music and you have a very entertaining film.”

“I wanted to like this film for all the great effort the actors, director, cinematographer, musicians put into it…but I had no empathy for the character who is such a pathetic jerk (that’s the novel’s problem). Thanks for bringing Jeff and Maggie to our screening.”

“Great music.”

“When the kid went missing my heart was in my mouth!”

“It was an intimate engaging film that pulled the audience into the hearts of the characters.”

“Superb!  Like the rest of the audience I was deeply moved.”

“There is definitely a soundtrack in my future!  Beautifully done.  CRAZY HEART is awesomely crazy good!  Jeff Bridges leaves you breathless!”

“Jeff Bridges’ acting was awesome!”

“Outstanding film!”

“Excellent translation of book to film.”

“Good film.  Bad-ass portrait of an intriguing man.”

“While I didn’t love this film, I did love the music and appreciated the fact that Jeff Bridges and Colin Farrell did their own singing.”

“Jeff Bridges was extraordinary as a decaying lonely man on his way to destruction.  The ending is not convincing although it has the satisfying Hollywood happy ending.  The music was fun.”
